After seven years of production, Man in the Field, a documentary about the life and art of Outstanding in the Field founder Jim Denevan, will have its world premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Saturday, January 18th. In celebration we will set the table at Coleman Family Farm, located 30 minutes away from Lobero Theatre where the film will be screened at 7:30 pm. Featured in the field kitchen is the chef duo from Bossie’s. Lauren and Christina are culinary marvels who have been stars on the Santa Barbara restaurant scene since 2016, when they moved north from L.A. after working for years with the legendary Suzanne Goin.
It is fitting that Man in the Field is making its debut in Santa Barbara. In 2003, OITF first ventured beyond our home territory of Santa Cruz for visits to the Stone Barns Center in Hudson Valley, NY and our first southern California dinner at Coleman Family Farm. We raise a glass to family and friends who have supported us along the way, along with the crew and producers of the new movie that chronicles Jim Denevan’s journey.
*We have a limited number of Man in the Field premiere screening tickets. You can purchase them with your ticket to the dinner. If you would like to exclusively attend the screening, you can purchase tickets here.
