Tantré Farm is a place that truly cares about people, plants, animals and soil. They’ve been growing nutrient-rich organic produce for the Ann Arbor community since 1993 and now operate one of the largest Community Supported Agriculture programs in the state — providing a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, herbs and flowers to over 300 members each season. They also run an impressive farm-to-school program and a food hub that offers resources to other local farmers. We are thrilled to visit their beautiful 115-acre property for the first time and to hear from farmers Richard and Deb about their inspiring work. Returning OITF guest chef Thomas Lents cooked for us last year at Seedling Farm. Chef Thomas is passionate about telling stories through food. He worked at a number of Michelin-starred restaurants before opening The Apparatus Room in Detroit, and is known for whipping up whimsical and elaborately themed tasting menus featuring Michigan-grown ingredients. We can’t wait to see what he brings to the field kitchen this year.
